About Noelia Gomez-Perez
Noelia completed her high school education at Western International High School in 2018. During her high school years, she demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Her interest in business led her to pursue higher education at Henry Ford College, where she earned an associate’s degree in Business Administration in May 2022.
After completing her degree, Noelia started her career journey as the Business Improvement District (BID) Administrative Manager at the Southwest Detroit Business Association (SDBA) from September 2021 to June 2022. During this period, she helped implement the BID Board’s goals and objectives, built relationships with business owners and
contractors and efficiently managed the day-to-day operations of the BID.
She then transitioned position at SDBA and became the Program Associate in July 2022. In this role, Noelia became an integral part of the SDBA team, supporting the Director of Programs with the Facade Improvement Program & the Mexicantown Mainstreet Program. She took on the responsibility of informing property owners about the façade program, encouraging
their participation, providing assistance in complying with program procedures, and tracking/organizing facade projects, estimates, and reimbursements. Within the Mexicantown Mainstreet Program, she is developing and maintaining a deep knowledge of the local business landscape of the Main Street corridor, technical assistance programs, and the approved work
plan in pursuit of the Mexicantown-Hubbard Communities Main Street Mission.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Noelia is committed to giving back to her community through youth engagement. Through Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT) and Urban Neighborhood Initiatives (UNI), she worked at SDBA in 2018 and provided support to the administrative manager with daily tasks. She also had the opportunity to work at Latino Family
Services in 2019 where she engaged with children as well as offered support to program managers. Outside of work, Noelia actively participates and volunteers to demonstrate her commitment to community development. As a youth participant in the Leaders In Training program since 2020, organized by UNI, she continues to learn and grow as a leader in order to
make a positive impact within her career and personal life. Furthermore, Noelia’s dedication to community involvement is evident in her participation in the Youth Advisory Board, another initiative by UNI. Through her involvement in this program, she collaborated with other young minds, providing insights and ideas for community-driven projects and engagement.

Her passion for business administration, combined with her commitment to making a difference in her community, positions her as a valuable asset and a catalyst for positive change.
