About Shelley Holderbaum
I have been a Detroit Police Officer since April 27, 1998, and have completed 25 years of service. I am the proud mother of four grown children, and am married. I am currently assigned to Fourth Precinct as the Commander. Working at the Fourth Precinct has always been my dream job. I speak Spanish, and I have always wanted to work with the community I could help the most.
I am currently finishing my NBA in Leadership at Cleary University. In March 2022, I completed a Masters Certificate in Business Administration at Wayne State University. In May 2018, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety at Siena Heights University. In May 1993, I received an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Technology from Charles Stewart Mott Community College.
I was given the pleasure to serve on the Hostage Negotiator Team for 23 years, eventually becoming a team leader. I have been involved in over 200 incidents. For an incident in 2004, I received the Valor Ward from the 100 Club.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, and traveling to Mexico with my husband to visit family there. I am enjoying my first grandson that arrived in May.
