COMPÁS New Program Manager – South West Detroit

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you. COMPAS is delighted to introduce our new Program Manager, Blanca Zelaya-Ayala, who officially joined our team in July, just in time for the launch of COMPAS’ Summer program. Blanca’s arrival marks a significant milestone for COMPAS, as she assumes the vital role of overseeing all aspects of our programming. As Program Manager, Blanca will be responsible for the management and coordination of COMPAS operations, including the seamless collaboration among our dedicated art, music, and dance instructors.

This addition to our team reinforces our commitment to enhancing COMPAS’ outreach efforts and strengthening our fundraising initiatives. With Blanca’s extensive expertise and guidance, we are confident in our ability to secure the essential resources needed to both sustain and expand our program. Blanca’s impressive background includes experience as a summer and after-school tutor, underscoring her dedication to education and community engagement.

Furthermore, her project management background at Trademark Productions, a website development agency, equips her with the skills necessary to excel in her role. Blanca’s academic journey at Highline Community College and the University of Washington further enhances her qualifications. Blanca’s deep connection to the Southwest Detroit area, where she has resided for the past five years, speaks volumes about her commitment to the community.

As a previous Choir Director and an active member of her church’s community involvement committee is a testament to her dedication to making a positive impact right here in our local community.

We invite all stakeholders to play an integral role in COMPAS’ ongoing growth. Blanca is actively seeking input from area residents, music, dance, and art teachers, as well as school administrators. Your insights are invaluable to us, and we encourage you to share your thoughts. Reach out to Blanca via phone or email to provide your suggestions or to request an emailed survey form.

As we look ahead, Blanca is eager to gather your preferences for classes that should be offered – for both youth and adults. Your valuable feedback will shape the curriculum for our upcoming Fall session, scheduled to begin on Monday, October 2, 2023. Additionally, we extend an invitation to our Open House event on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m.

This event offers an opportunity to gain deeper insights into our plans and engage in meaningful discussions. Blanca’s addition to the COMPAS team is a significant development, and we anticipate that her fresh perspective will greatly contribute to the continued success of COMPAS. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we embark on this new chapter.

Together, we are poised to create a stronger and more vibrant community through COMPAS. For more information, contact COMPAS Program Manager, Blanca Zelaya, at (313)-554-0791 or
