First Round of Motor City Re-Store Grants Awarded!
A dozen Southwest Detroit businesses have been awarded grants to update the exterior appearance of their storefronts through the City of Detroit’s Motor City Re-Store program. The goal of this project is to help existing businesses maintain curb appeal while new businesses are moving into the area. SDBA has a real estate development team that helps business owners navigate the Motor City Re-Store program as well as Motor City Match and the NEIdeas Challenge. We also have a facade improvement program that business owners can apply to year round. “Applying for these programs involve a lot of time and dedication, but the potential of winning these grants and rewarding businesses who have stayed in the neighborhood make it worth it” stated SDBA Real Estate Advocate, Greg Mangan. We can’t wait to see the final product of the grant winner’s businesses!
