2017 Community Investment Breakfast
The Southwest Detroit Business Association’s (SDBA) Annual 2017 Community Investment Breakfast is Thursday, June 15 from 7-9:30 am at MotorCity Casino Hotel SoundBoard. SDBA will host more than 300 community leaders, business owners, entrepreneurs, and residents. The event is presented by MotorCity Casino Hotel and will be held in the Sound Board. This year’s theme is Destination Southwest and will be a celebration of growing economic investment in Southwest Detroit while acknowledging the 60th anniversary of SDBA.
The honorees are in three special categories. The categories this year are Trailblazers, Spirit of Southwest, and Legacy Leaders.
The Trailblazers are George Azar of Flowers of Vietnam, Jason Ghannam of Paul’s Pizza and Alana Rodriguez of Mama Coo’s.
The Spirit of Southwest Detroit honorees are Charles Danto of Danto’s Furniture and Jim Saucedo of State Farm Insurance.
The Legacy Leaders are Sylvia Gucken of The Ideal Group, Ben Fienman of E&L Supermercado and Omar Hernandez of Armando’s Restaurant and Mexicantown Bakery.
This year’s recipient of the Kathy Wendler Award is Carmen Munoz of Munoz Machine Products.
The SDBA is very excited to honor these leaders and celebrate our 60th Anniversary with individuals who contribute so much to the Southwest Detroit community.
